There will be a wifi but it's not guaranteed that it will be strong enough or will work the whole time. Will I then need to use a usb cable to use the printer for my macbook air? It doesnt need to be connected to the internet at all times. If you use a usb cord and connect it to your macbook it will work great. You will know when you wireless signal isn't connected to the printer because the blue wifi connectivity light near touch screen will flash. So theres no guessing if the signal is too weak. I bought this printer to use with all my Apple products so I think you will like how easy it connects to your Macbook.
