QuestionCan you use a sufficiently sized external battery pack (Like a 16,000 MaH) with a USB 3.0 - USB C cable to charge if you don't have access to wall power for the HP power supply? Most external batteries output is 15V, 3A.

- Answer I wanted to answer my own question since I've already installed Linux and wanted to put the specific issues (very few, surprisingly). - Run the 4.6 kernel as the Intel wifi drivers are already included (Kali Linux installs Debian Jessie / kernel 4.3 and I had to do a separate download from Intel to get / compile the drivers). It also takes care of a weird power thing dealing with one of the interrupts. (pegs proc0) - I had a few small issues around Bluetooth speaker detection but it turned out to be a Debian Jessie issue. If you wind up running Debian, there's a really good walkthrough of the fix on unix stackexchange (article ID 159881). Everything else works out-of-the-box and it's a nice little platform for Linux...

QuestionI want a Microsoft HP laptop for college. Also want to play PC games, possibly hook up a console. I type a lot of papers and need it for college classes. Also needs to be good with powerpoints, spreadsheets, ect. Is this a good one? Any better options?

- Answer As far as using for college stuff, this is great. Wonderfully portable and light, but as far as playing games on it, I'd recommend something else. You won't find anything this thin that works well for gaming. I've tried, you can run a decent amount of games on low settings, but that's it, if you want to have things look nice you'll have to go bigger.

- Answer Good question. This laptop would be a great choice to run the Adobe programs. It has the right processing power and the 8 GB is sufficient. However, 12 GB of RAM or higher may be a better option. I hope this helps.

- Answer I had this question as well, there is actually a leather sleeve in the box, has a quality feel to it and fits the laptop snugly, but will fit easier with time

- Answer I did not experience any heating issue. However make sure you are not using the computer when the surface is on the bed or when it is held over a blanket. Make sure the vent is open and the fans can pass air. Plus use compressed air to get rid of any lint in the cooling fan vents
