Thank you for your question on the upgradability of this HP Victus! This has two SODIMM slots for up to 16GB DDR5-4800 in a 2x8GB configuration.

Just to be clear, a "kit" is composed of two or more identical RAM modules (always in pairs). So It is not necessary to buy a "kit" if you want to keep the pre-installed RAM in place, or if you want to remove that one and install a 64GB module (which apparently some people have successfully done, even though this is much more than the HP recommended maximum of 32GB/
