• Only should only need one or the other. I have it connected only via DisplayPort.

• The headset has a display port 1.2 connector. If you don't have a display port on your graphics card, and only have an HDMI port, you would need to get a display port-to-HDMI adaptor.

• You need both. Actually if you only have a HDMI 1.4 on your computer. You need a converter from display port to DMI.
