Second Generation Vive

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5I own the original Vive. My experience with the machinery was great, However Vive customer service was terrible. The Vive Cosmos is great. Base Stations are longer required which means less set-up fewer wires. It took a little adjustment but the new controllers are fine. I like being able to see the real environment without removing the headset. It has also been built to accept some future upgrades/modifications. All in all many little changes have resulted in a pleasant upgrade of the Vive. I can't give this product 100% because Vive customer service is still "do it yourself " and it is even more complex to setup the software because of the Viveport VR pass through to Steam VR that I still don't understand how it works or why it exists.

Great while I had it.

Quality4 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5It was my first VR headset and I honestly couldn't complain. The tracking was good, as long you had a very well lit room. The reason for the 2 stars is that mine decided to have a few dead pixels on the display. Only visible in dark areas, like if you are in caves or watching a video. Has a pass through camera that you can switch between so you can see where you are. Headset is a tad heavier than the PSVR headset. I returned mine due to the dead pixel issue.

I can play blade and sorcery for hours with no problems. I'm really excited for the wireless kit to be released. It's so much fun.

Immersive experience
|Posted .Owned for 9 months when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendYou get to be virtually in reality! There are many games to play and because of the different game stores some are finnicky like oculus but it can all work with some help from online. I got to walk around and touch and see and look and It has a much better screen than my rift s but the controllers can dsync a little not too bad

Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5It’s a good VR system. You do need to make sure you’re computer is compatible with it. I had a harder time setting it up because of the 3.0 USB port.

Q: QuestionDo you need sensors for tracking on the HTC VIVE COSMOS?
Asked by Modelo64.
- A:Answer The cosmos comes with "Inside-Out" tracking which means it has built in sensors (6 to be exact). Though it is supposed to work well, "outside-in" tracking (external trackers watching you) is still the most efficient for tracking, move latency, etc. The cosmo's is compatible with also using "Outside-In" tracking via Steam VR 1.0/2.0 Lighthouses BUT you must buy a special faceplate to enable this feature. We run arcades and distribute VR Treadmills and its a bummer as this changes our packages in a negative way.

Q: QuestionWould I be able to connect the original vive controllers to this device?
Asked by Sal.
- A:Answer They are making the head set work with 2.0 tracking, but it's another expensive you would have to add. I'm not sure if it's gonna be compatible with 1.0.

Q: QuestionIs rumor of a 2hr controller battery life accurate?
Asked by Kaptkrunch.
- A:Answer Yes and it requires 2 AA batteries, why? to create super duper bright blinding lights around the controller ring because they opted for low res RGB cam vs IR I'm not an oculus spokesperson but for inside-out entry level VR, Rift S is the only way to go in my opinion.

Q: QuestionWhat Laptops will this work with? Can you play flight simulators with this?
Asked by quest.
- A:Answer It will work with any laptop that has Displayport. HDMI will not work or HDMI to DisplayPort converter. Mini-display port will work as well. They have an adaptor for that. You can play Flight Simulator titles. There are a few that make for VR gaming.

Q: QuestionI know that the price is the exact same on BestBuy.com as it is on HTC's website, but I'm leaning towards purchasing from them as it comes with a free 6 months of VivePort. Does anyone who has purchased from BestBuy know if this comes with Viveport?
Asked by SyNstuff.
- A:Answer Yes. it does come with it. I return my Cosmos because the tracking was so bad. I couldn't even play Beat Saber. When back to my Vive.
