• It's an android phone, so all apps should work. If you upgrade to Android 6.0, some apps do not work with it yet.

• Yes. Waze works. I've even played Pokemon Go and it works. The phone is missing a gyroscope but makes up for it with GPS and an accelerometer. Anything dependent on a gyroscope won't work.
