This phone takes the new mini sim cards, the slot on the side of the phone takes two sim cards as there are 2 IMEI numbers associated with the Mate 9. A push pin tool is supplied to remove the carrier but a simple push pin will also work. Sim 1 sits alone and Sim2 sits under the memory card, both are in the same slot. I'm using a Sandisk 128GB microSD with no issues.Takes a steady hand and a couple tries to not shake the sim/memory cards while sliding the carrier back into the phone.
