- Answer Yes, whether the battery is charged or not you can always turn off the power assist and ride this as a regular bicycle.

- Answer This model is a pedal assist only, once you stop pedaling the motor will cut off. The battery is a lithium 36V-7.8AH battery and the motor is 350W. The shifter and rear derailleur are made by Shimano. For any assembly options please contact your local store.

- Answer Yes, you must pedal this bike for the battery to work. It starts assisting after two pedal revolutions. There is no throttle on this bike

- Answer Yes to taking battery off, but it would be clumsy to carry—it’s not small. You’d need a bag. And no tools came with mine
