“Are there any protective cases that you know of that the hub will work with? Just bought my son a new MacBook Pro for college and the hub will not work with the Thule protective case. It’ll go in but not far enough to connect properly.”

Im not sure you'll have much luck with any heavy duty thick cases, but I have a Speck clip on case that covers the top and bottom. Im able to use the port with no problems and I can slide the MacBook with the Speck case on it down into a Thule carrying case and just leave the side unzipped if you don't want to unplug it. Hope this helps! I recommend the case and carrying cases I have, but check for your size if you do decide to go with those.

My opinion is to only keep the hub installed when you need it- I’d be concerned about the connection points if I had it installed all the time. Your son is fortunate to receive such a nice computer!
