I bought a Dell 27" S2716DG monitor, 144 Hz 2650x1440 display, 1ms refresh. Paid $425 with free shipping. The reviews say that it is awesome other than the black levels aren't great but I didn't want to spend $600+ for a G-sync monitor and frankly I don't see any issues, it is an awesome monitor for the price.

So if you are just looking for 1080 then any monitor would work. Find something with nvidia Gsync and you will love your life.
