• The i7-7700K provided with this PC is the fastest processor for this generation Intel processor. The newer i8 series uses a different pinout configuration and will not be compatible with the motherboard that comes with this build.

• Yes you can switch it. You can go from the i7700k and move forward so says the good folks at Best Buy. :) I wouldnt try to do a jump to AMD though.
