It is only a battery, it is rubberized, so it offers some grip, but no protection. I haven't found a case, but there is a company that makes bumpers, that will work with the mods, I think it was actually Incipio, try their website.

As for a case that fits both phone and extra battery, there is not one yet that I have seen. The battery itself works great and lasts a long time. Wireless charging works great too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It protects the back of the phone. Verizon sells a bumper case that works with all mods. Also Incipio sells a bumper case that works with all mods. But the Verizon one you can actually remove mods without taking it on and off. I found mine on Amazon and eBay. Incipio battery mod is amazing. I just keep it wirelessly charged and slap it on. Never have a dead battery. I did drop my phone with the Tumi battery mod and it landed on the corner of the mod. Disconnected from phone and the bottom back of the phone that is glass slightly shattered. If I would have had the bumper case, don't think the same would have happened.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.this is not a protective case. It does add some weight to the phone. As for some sort of protection when using this battery mod you can use a bumper case like Incipio co-molded bumper. That is the one I use on my phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is not any protection to the phone from this battery MOD. However, it does make the phone a bit thicker making it fit my hand better. It has a leather feel to it so it doesn't slide out of my hand. I've found that I feel more secure in not damaging or dropping my phone with the MOD on it. I've have not found any type of case that will go on this phone with the MOD on it. Hope this helps you.

I suggest using a tempered glass screen protector, and to use a regular case without the battery pack if you're going somewhere that you might drop the phone. I haven't really found anything case-wise that fits over the battery pack.

However, there are a number of bumper-style cases that will protect for drops while still allowing Moto Mods, such as the Two-Tone Bumper for Moto Z Force Droid.
