QuestionFacing the microwave, is the power cord located on the left or right side of the back of the microwave? The specs list the cord length as being 3.3” - please tell me that’s a mistake. Assuming it is, what is the correct length?

- Answer without measuring I would have to say they meant 3'3" and hit the decimal by accident. 39" would be much more accurate for what is hanging out the back of mine.

- Answer The rotating plate is 13.5 in. The microwave itself is 14.5 in wide, 17in deep, and about 9in in height. The walls are wider in the middle than they are around the edges.

QuestionHow wide of opening is needed to be able to open the door? The width is listed as 21.8” with door closed, will it be functional in a 22.5” opening or does that not allow enough room for the door to hinge? Thanks!

- Answer It might be tight but should fit, as the door when fully open adds a bit under 0.5 inches to the width.

QuestionWhat types of food can be cooked using the "Stew" function? I've never seen "Stew" as an option on a microwave before.

- Answer According to the user guide, the Stew function button can be pressed repeatedly to cycle through the food types that can be cooked on this function. When I press the Stew function, only “Chicken” and “Curry” selections are available. I have never used this function, so I cannot speak to how it actually works.

- Answer Yes, there is a timer. According to the user guide, the oven cannot be used for cooking while the timer is running. Have never tried it, but that just makes sense.

QuestionHow much space do you need for venting?

- Answer I put ours in a fairly small enclosed area and the right side is open and faces our sink. I am quite confident it is well vented. Our last unit lasted almost 20 years in that space. Like any other appliance, I would not completely box it in. It has to breathe a little.

QuestionWho manufactures (makes) the Insignia microwave?

- Answer It is a Best Buy product, Insigna. Who actually makes it to Best Buys specifications or that Best Buy actually has a manufacturing plant, I don't know but probably not. It does look very similar to a GE product. So far so good. I was restricted by size and price so this fit the criteria, I just hope it holds up to time.
