The lid (door) opens towards you, just like a regular oven. There is no top lid to the unit; only the door. Since there are no recipes included with this Air Fryer Oven, I would go with doing whatever your recipe says to do regarding adding any type of liquids into the preparation process, which usually occurs outside of the air fryer itself. Once the prepared food is placed inside the air fryer oven, it is expected that some liquid mix will drip down into the catch pan during cooking - that's why a drip pan is included in the package. For recipes that require a solid cooking dish (e.g. scalloped potatoes, mac and cheese) I find that the Anchor brand glass 6 cup and 3.75 cup dishes work well. Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This fryer doesn't take oil at all. It's an air fryer. You can spray some food with Pam if you want it to be a little crispier but oil in not required.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no specific place in the Oven to place the oil. Oil needs to be placed on the food itself by spreading the oil on your food. The only thing that can be opened is the Air Fryer Oven door using the door handle. Dina | Insignia Support | https://www.insigniaproducts.com/contact-us
