• Yes, I have shredded dozens of plastic cards with no problem. Personally I would advise against trying it on the kind of credit cards with metal in them (like a Chase Sapphire card). That's what broke my old shredder, so I don't want to even try it on this one.

• Yes it does that very well. Recently family members have passed and as we close accounts we shred the cards
