• The bucket like tray slides out the side and you empty it like you would a pail. Very easy.

• The lower Compartment that catches the shreddings slides out and is easily emptied Into another trashcan. If you found the correct size liner/bags you could put those in there as well. I don’t bother because the shreddings are very small and form into a dense pile which dumps easily.
