Hi there! It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying your Insignia™ 10-Sheet Microcut Shredder! As for shredding envelopes, it’s generally not recommended. The manual advises against shredding envelopes, adhesive materials, newsprint, transparencies, laminated documents, continuous forms, cardboard, or hard plastic materials (except credit cards) through the shredder. Shredding envelopes could potentially cause jams or damage the blades, especially if they contain adhesive or plastic windows. To keep your shredder running smoothly, it’s best to stick to paper, small staples, credit cards, and CDs. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! |Angelica| Insignia Products| https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-10-sheet-microcut-shredder-black/6455545.p?skuId=6455545
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it will shred envelopes just fine. I’ve placed them in there from junk mail that I received and haven’t had any issues. It’s a really good shredder as long as the envelopes aren’t very thick. Or have more than 10 pages of paper inside. You should be OK. It is better to flatten out your papers before shredding but if the envelope is then it only has one page and a credit card. You should be OK..
