“Why is there a gas like smell when fan comes on when shredding? Smells terrible!”

• Smell most likely from material used for manufacturing it. Sometimes a new motor may have a smell from lubricates used for storing. Mine went away after a few uses.

• There is an odor, but it obviously isn`t gas. I thought it might be due to the fact it`s new and there might be some oil or other lubricant smell which may go away as the shredder ages.
