Q: QuestionCan this fan be safely be adapted to using a wall plug for power. Obviously it won't be used for a computer, but to cool a/v receiver as sometimes it does that "all day burn" in light of my new found free time.

• A:Answer It can be used for this purpose with the use of a 100-240v AC to 12v 4-pin Molex adapter and a 4-pin Molex to 4-pin fan connector. If you are going to go with a solution like this, I recommend getting a Molex to fan connector with voltage controls or the fans will run at full speed at all times.

• A:Answer I don't know. It is about an quarter inch thicker than the entire bottom of my Lenovo. I am planning on a new chip-set upgrade with the clearance price set I bought from BB, then rebuilding a new bottom around the new fan. Any advice would be appreciated and I can let you know in a week or so if the fan works correctly. Otherwise, I may return it for a refund.

• A:Answer Where are you trying to put the fan? I looked up your computer online and it is one of those pre-built computers. I pulled up the manuals for it and it gave me a detailed view of your case. The computer has a fan on the CPU and maybe one in the front(the manuals don't show a fan but just HD cages etc). So, I don't think you can but you are not specific. If you are looking for a fan for the CPU this isn't what you want unless you have an aftermarket fan cooling system and need to replace the fan on it. • A:Answer If it is a stable 12v with at least a couple amps of available out put constant it should work. These are 12v 0.5A. You would need to make a custom adapter and you will lose PWM.

• A:Answer Yes, you could turn it around to do that but I would question if it can cover enough area to do what you want. These fans move enough air for a small area the size of a computer case but out in the open it would have trouble moving enough air.
