QuestionThe Door display will change if the door is opened, and the computer gets a signal when the door is opened. Is there a a mechanical or magnetic switch we could tape over or defeat for 24 hours? So that the freeze will not know if the door is open.

QuestionHow come my freezer auto converts back to fridge mode ? I have it set and locked at freezer with -11 but it auto converts to fridge mode ?

- Answer I have had this freezer for over a month and it has never done that. It may be defective or a programming problem. I know you can set it up to an app on your phone for alerts if the door is left open or it stops working. Maybe there is a setting on the app that makes it “auto convert” to refrigerator. Sorry I can’t help.

QuestionThis freezer is advertised as frost-free but the manual for model NS-UZ14XWH7 includes a dedicated section on defrosting it manually, saying it should be defrosted when the ice exceeds 3 to 5 mm thick. Is this a frost-free freezer or not?

QuestionAnyone having issues with temperature? I bought two about a week ago. The freezer is set at -5 to get down to 0, which is okay, but the fridge cannot be set below 35 so it only goes down to 40. I put a $5 themometer inside.

- Answer In the fridge mode, we're having the same problem. With continuous fiddling, it seems to work better set to 38.. I saw it once today actually sitting at about 34, but it seems happiest sitting on 40. I would also prefer 35 for storage of lots of vegetables and fruits. This is like having any temperature you want as long as it's 40. These units are sold primarily as freezers where they over excel. The manuals fail to mention that the display figures are only requests of what you would like, not readouts of actual internal conditions. At least we were smart enough to buy the small round Home Depot themometers.

- Answer our garage is insulated but not heated and every time the doors open, the temp changes. we put in the fridge and freezer in Feb, located in Ohio and they both worked just fine.

- Answer I use mine off grid running on solar batteries and after brief about 5 amp startup surge runs on .75 - .85 amps per amp meter and verified by solar controller. Perfect for my system.

Questionwhat are the dimensions without the door. and also there is a white tray looking thing in back above the motor it has 2 screws and sticks out about 1 1/2 -2 inches what is that?

- Answer The dimension front to back without the door is 26 7/8". Assuming you can remove the door hinge brackets top and bottom. Not sure about the second part of your question. No tray on the outside back. Inside, see attached photo. Only guessing this is part of the ventilation for circulating inside air.
