Their is a hidden issue underlying. I cannot say that it is normal.The freezer should be set to 0'F when using as a freezer mode. If it is set too high like 5'F it won't freeze properly. If the light in the freezer is not working, there are three possible causes. The light bulb could be burned out. The light switch could be defective. There could be open internal wiring.
