- Answer I just got two Insignia 17cuft garage ready convertible fridge/freezer units. I got one to use as a fridge, and a second to use as a freezer. It is important to note that the display on the front shows the temperature the unit is set at, NOT the actual temperature inside. You need to get a freezer thermometer to put inside the unit so you know the actual temperature. The Insignia unit I use as a freezer is SET to minus 5 and cools to between minus 3 to plus 2. It never gets down to the minus 5 setting - that's why I set it at minus 5. The unit I use as a fridge will not cool to safe fridge temperatures and will likely need to be returned. If yours is thawing food at a zero setting, it will probably need service or have to be returned. It's disappointing.

- Answer We lost one of the hex screws also. If you still have Quick Set Up guide that came in a clear plastic cover, there are 2 replacement hex screws along with the 2 extended screw heads in a small plastic pouch. It also contained the hex wrench.

QuestionThe outside display fades out and now is no longer coming on.. The freezer is still keeping items frozen.. It will come on then fade out like the battery needs to be changed out. Any assistance will help

- Answer The display does not stay on constantly, only a small blue led light to let you know it has power. The display will light up anytime you press a button or open the door, but then will turn off after a few minutes or less.
