• I am experiencing very hot sides as well. I think because there is no fan moving the heat about the back near the coil. I am starting to notice the ice on bags turns to water very quickly too.

• The sides being warm is normal. They run the condenser coils up and down the sidewalls of the unit to dissipate the head generated by the compressor. Older / alternative designs have under or rear mounted condenser coils that (sometimes have a fan on them) that you would have to periodically clean. This way you never have to clean the dust off of the coils. It is more efficient in the long run.

• I've had this fridge for almost a month & yes, the sides get very hot. It seems as the weather is heating up, the hotter the sides become
