“How big a room will the sound be projected into? I want to use speakers for my projector in a room of 20-30 people. Can volume get loud enough for that, say a room that is 20 x 20 ft. to watch a movie by?”

No. These are tiny speakers. You would need quite a bit more than what these speakers offer.
