I'm not sure what cables you were looking at but if its a generic no-name brand such as on Amazon, they do what they're supposed to but they aren't as durable as these. I've used both. This cable you'd only have to buy once where you'd likely have to be replacing the cheaper once every couple months or so.

The Insignia™ 2' SATA III Hard Drive Cable is more expensive than many 10-pack alternatives mainly due to brand value, build quality, and added services. As Best Buy’s in-house brand, Insignia products are priced to reflect the convenience of in-store availability, customer support, and warranty coverage. This particular cable includes features like gold-plated connectors and supports high-speed data transfer up to 6 Gbps, which may not be guaranteed with cheaper bulk options. Additionally, it comes with a 1-year warranty, offering peace of mind that generic or no-name brands often lack. While bulk packs are more cost-effective per unit, the Insignia cable offers reliability, immediate access, and support that justify its higher price for many buyers. Keith | Insignia Support
