This cable is an internal cable for a desktop pc. Connecting a Hard drive to a motherboard. Not for external use if that is what you are wanting to know about. Hope that helps.

The cable is 2 ft long so use in a laptop would likely not work and the laptop would need a extra sata port to plug the cable into.
