Yes, but I do have mine under a overhang, but not needed. They get rained on and keep going. Soaked.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Weather proof is not always waterproof. They will take the sun, cold, dampness, ..... but out of the box I wouldn't spray them with water ! I'm using them outdoors and they were in the rain BUT, I siliconed the connections on the back after I attached the wires. If you can just shield them from direct rain and you should be good.

Please try again later.I think the term outdoor simply means that the speaker could withstand hot and cold weather and some amount of moisture, like when it gets humid, but I wouldn't put them in an area where they would get wet. The only things that are waterproof are devices that actually say they are waterproof. Try to protect them from moisture as much as possible when placing them outside, to prolong the life of the speakers.

I purchased them directly from a Best Buy store, not online and believe this is a standard stock item for Best Buy stores. I'd recommend visiting a store.... or calling one local to you and asking someone to check.
