These are not Bluetooth speakers. They don't have any range. You need an amplifier to drive them. If by "range" you mean frequency response, it's 90Hz - 20kHz.

these are not wireless so how far are you willing to run a cord?

Zero they do not work directly with a laptop. These are old school speakers that require you to hook them up with speaker wire to a amplifier or a receiver first.
