As an OSHA instructor, I can say, yes, you can use an extension cord. That being said, it requires being a larger gauge than the existing plug, and, I would never use an appliance on an extension cord without a Ground Fault Circuit Interruptor (GFCI) at the end where plugging in the appliance. Cords and GFCI's are relatively cheap. Enjoy your cooker safely!
