I am not sure about supporting 4TB. I am using it with a 1TB drive. It is a bit big for a purse IMHO but, given the size of some purses, it will fit. It is an 8"x5"x1.5".aluminum case.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If she has a large purse and you already have the 4TB internal drive it would probably work. On the other hand, my Western Digital 4TB external drive is much smaller and would seem much more convenient for the purpose.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can put a 4 TB HDD in this portable enclosure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for the reply. Not concerned about size. I have already invested in 3.5s. They are the best solution for desk top. I use CCC and will be doing offsite storage. Also, I would not buy a seagate. I generally only purchase HGST and read HDD reviews offered by Backblaze.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The product info says it is "Compatible with most 3.5" Serial ATA hard drives" - so that shouldn't be an issue. But your wife would need a pretty large purse. At nearly 2 lbs. with a drive installed, it weighs about as much as two cans of fruit. Plus, at 5" x 1.2" not counting the USB cable and power brick and cord, it would take up quite a bit of space. For size, you'd be better off with a 2.5" hard drive enclosure like the NS-PCHD235 (which would require a 2.5" hard drive). For portability, you'd be even better off with a portable hard drive like the Seagate STDR4000100.
