Hi! The total available output of the two USB ports is 3.6 amps, power is shared between the ports' therefore, when using just one of the USB ports, the full 3.6 amps are provided for the device you connect to it (such as fast-charging a tablet or smartphone). Daniel T. - Insignia Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The amperage rating of an electrical device is the TOTAL number of amps available at that device (assuming your branch circuit is code-compliant). In this particular case, the nominal line voltage for the duplex receptacle is listed at 110v AC and is rated for 15 amps. The total capacity of the entire branch circuit (including other receptacles on that same circuit) would be 15 amps regardless of the number of appliances plugged into all the devices on that circuit. As long as the total number of amps combined do not exceeded fifteen, you are fine. Similarly, the Class 2 ports produce an available 3.6 amps TOTAL at 5v DC regardless of whether you use one or both ports. For example, if a tablet requiring 2.5 amps was plugged into one port, the remaining port would only support 1.1 amps for a total of 3.6 amps. When you read the word TOTAL it means that every single outlet/port has that capacity both individually and collectively. Exceeding that capacity could trip the overcurrent protection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I cant say for sure but Id be willing to bet it is 1.3 on each. I have noticed that mine do not ever charge any faster than the standard "blocks". It definitely doesnt get the big ipad block charging times.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Bev, The outlet has a 3.6 AMPS TOTAL OUTPUT power capacity for the USB connections. Enough for a smart phone and a tablet to charge. Have a great day!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From the description it looks like a total of 3.6 or 1.8 per plug.
