If, your home already has whole house surge protection then the redundancy is not necessary.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So I bought these because I have a couple of outlets where I can plug in my phone to charge, but it's on an open wall and I don't want the clutter of a surge cord on the floor. Hope that makes sense.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Surge protection is a good idea however, if you don't normally experience surges in power, depends on house or city you live in, you would be okay with a quick charge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you can even find one that has 2 USB's and both outlets AND also is a surge protector, I would be surprised.. But if you do,..... Just like everything. If you have one device to do multiple jobs, it usually does some of them inferior to seperates.... I would go purchase a better surge protector that one that fits in an electrical outlet box the size of a deck of cards. . Just my .02.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Good question. I bought both this and a external surge protector and would definitely recommend the latter. Being that it's portable and immensely easier to use. I'm sure the reasoning for getting this product is to have it remain a little less conspicuous and possibly when building a new home might be a better option than standard outlets.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This outlet would allow you to install a surge strip because surge strips wear out and installing surge strip is cheaper then going back in to replaced an outlet. Also surge strip allow you to select different amount of joules ratings to protect your equipment various equipment needs.
