What is the noise db level null

Using a Sound Meter app on my phone, the ambient noise level in my house is around 30 dB. With the dehumidifier running on low fan, the level goes up to around 58 dB right next to the unit and 52 dB 10 feet away from the unit. With the turbo fan on this increase by another 5 dB.
