• Does each portable hard drive have it's own independent power supply? If they do, then yes it should.

• Yes. I have connected 3 External Hard Drives and they are working seamlessly. Though during the start-up process of my computer, a small window pop up in the right lower corner of my screen saying "A USB Device Not Recognised" and then disappear in a couple of seconds. May be it require some kind of configuration or some thing but it doesn't bother my while working.
