• Mine charges my DS4, my wireless headset, and also provides space for the headsets dongle. Freed up the USB port for the external drive.

• Yes, it will charge your dual shock 4 controller when connected to a power source. I have this and I use it for the same reason.

• Yes it works, idk if it will shorten the life of the Batery over long term use thou, I still charge mine out of the PS4 and the USB hub o use for my wireless headset and rocksmith cable
