• If your MacBook has a HMDI port then yeah it would be compatible.

• Does you r MacBook Have HDMI out? If yes, then yes. I use mine with s laptop that has HDMI out.

• Sure, a mini displayport to hdmi cable should do it.

• It should be. I use it with my MacBook Air and a Mini DisplayPort / HDMI adapter. MacOS sees it as both an external display and sound output device.
