Yes, when connecting headphones the TV will disable the internal speakers. When you connect headphones it will offer Variable Out that allows you to control volume with the TV remote, or Fixed that is a flat signal that requires adjustment via the headphones or soundbar.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is an option in the sub-menus of the audio setup which allows you to choose the way the tv behaves in relation to headphones and audio. Under the "speakers" sub-menu, you can choose either on/off/auto. Choosing "auto" causes the tv speakers to shut off when headphones are plugged in. Then there is another sub-menu for headphone audio which allows you to choose whether the sound is a constant level or adjustable with the tv's remote.
