“I know it's a 40-inch TV but they measure them differently I need to know how wide the TV is I can't go longer than 34.5 in it goes in a cabinet”

• They measure diagonally. The actual length is just shy of 3' long, so it will not fit. Even the 39" smart tv is .3 bigger than you need.

• Short answer: A so called 40 inch tv is 3' long, and they measure diagonally to get the 40 inches. It's slightly to big for that space.
