A:AnswerWhen running in dehumidifier mode, you would have to elevate the hose connection on the unit higher than the window exit, or toilet or wherever the exit line ends up. We do this in the basement of our lake house by placing the dehumidifier on a stand with wheels and running the hose into the toilet while we are not there.
A:AnswerDiameter is about 5 and one half inches. So a 5 inch hose could fit inside. The hose itself does definitely disconnect from the at unit plastic mounting hardware and it appears to be able to disconnect from the at window mounting hardware as well. In any case, works and cools great. Now 5 weeks old.
A:AnswerYou might have a clogged drain line that’s keeping the water from draining or it might be icing up due to dirty filters. Also make sure the exhaust is not being restricted.
A:AnswerI’m a HVAC Servive tech. Usually that smell comes from sitting water from the unit condensating you might want to clean it out. If the issue still continues they sell bacterial spray for the coils to kill any mold or bacteria an order that builds up due to the sitting water.
A:AnswerMostly you dont need to drain it. Unless using the "dry" mode. the hole its higer than a bathtub for sure, not sink, so to drain on sink you need to pick the unit up. There is external tanks that are sell online if you want or you can use a hose, but definitely the hole is lower than a window too
A:AnswerYes. Everything to get it started is in the box. One note, the water reservoir is small and will fill fast if using the dry mode. You will need to buy a drain hose and run it outside for that or it will shut off!
