You would want it pointed down to take in fresh cool air. And if it doesnt have a filter you can buy a magnetic screen
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In my application the Power unit is mounted in the top rear of a tower. It pulls air from inside case and expels it outside. Therefore, in your application, if I understand your question correctly, it should pull outside air through the bottom vents and across the motherboard and then expel the heated air outside the unit. You may want to test the unit you purchased to see if the fan is blowing into or sucking out of your case before connecting all the cables to your motherboard.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The fan in this power supply draws in from your case and blows it out the back
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yea,my duhh moment, lol. It is blowing out the back.I realized it after I submitted the question but thank you for the reply.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Always blow heat coming from the PSU out the bottom , not back up into the system where heat is being drawen away at the CPU by the cooler. Pic below shows Cool Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooling Fan that helps keep the CPU Cool , so blowing heat from the power supply back into the system defeats the purpose.
