QuestionOn average (normal room setting with no heavy pollutants such as smoke, etc.) how long should the filter last? I just purchased this unit which has been lit up in green the whole time and the number goes back and forth from 4 to 5.

- Answer I'm not an expert but I think the bigger number is the unit's estimation of particles moved and the smaller number is the type of the particulate matter (e.g. PM2.5, PM0.1, PM10). Honestly, i don't pay too much attention on this as it fluctuates during its run anyway and it all depends on the current condition of your room. As long as it turns from RED to GREEN, I trust that the air is 'cleaner'. As to whether that's really accurate or not, I am also not sure. I guess I'll find out during our wildfire season to put it to a more 'realistic' test.

- Answer Don't know the answer to your question, BUT....the unit senses the impurities in the air and then adjusts its speed accordingly to remediate the situation. One of our units is in the kitchen/dining area and usually reads number 007 and fluctuates a little up and down - unless of course you fry something, and then it spikes for awhile and eventually comes back down. The one in the bedroom stays around 001-003 and never really changes. We leave them both on all the time and have esperienced significant allergy relief.

- Answer My friend went to a breeder for her 2 Maine Coon boys and noticed no scent there. They used Feline Pine. I tried it with my one and it worked well but had some "crummy" residue occasionally. Switched to the Tidy Cat Breeze system and just loved it! High tech compressed Japanese pellets dehydrate/deodorize the urine before landing on a pee pad in the base. Seriously great product. No more lugging cat litter in and adding to the landfills with waste. Check out reviews on Amazon.
