Some people put a plastic cup of water in their freezer. When the water freezes they put a penny on top of the ice. That way if you ever find the penny in the ice you will know that the freezer went off, defrosted and came back on and the food inside is suspect. A thermometer is a good accessory and the freezer should stay around 30 degrees.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you are worried about this, put a small cup with water inside the freezer. When it freezes, place a coin on top and leave it in the freezer. This way, if it goes off without you knowing, and your food spoils, then it comes back on and re-freezes everything, you will know because the coin will now be frozen at the bottom of the cup of water.
