Needed freezer space.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Desperately needed more freezer storage. We don't have a lot of space and this freezer fit the area we wanted to use. Shopped online, this freezer was in stock and available at the local BB. Went down to look at it, and it was what we were wanting. Sales associate was great at answering questions and completing the transaction. With in a few minutes a couple of BB team members were helping us load into our pickup. Once home and set up, the freezer was cold enough to use in about 15 minutes. Have had for over a year now. Runs quiet and does an great job as a freezer. Satisfied do far.

Nice unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been looking for a small freezer to handle overflow from our main fridge/freezer. The 5 cubic foot model is a perfect size. It fit nicely into a nook in the basement. I purchased it 3 days ago from a local Best Buy. One must-have feature for me was a power light. Many small freezers in this low-price category do not have a light (Lowes, Home Depot). Oddly the Insignia floor model did not have a light, but the salesman was nice enough to pull one from the warehouse. We found that one had a power light. I agree with other posters that Insignia is not a name-brand, but it’s likely built in the same factory as major brands like Hot Point or LG. Just compare the control panel and you’ll see what I mean. This applies to most appliances these days. Other features that I’ve been impressed with are: - It’s light weight, easy to move around. - The exterior metal shell is surprising sturdy. It could easy support something stored on top. - It’s got a drain plug for defrosting - It started up fine, got down to 0 degrees in a few hours. - It’s quiet Overall, it seems to be good value. I hope this works out long term.

Great Freezer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, this little freezer is perfect!! First off, I could pick it up as it's not super heavy, and I got it home in a SUV, so the box isn't all that huge. I plugged it in and within a few hours it was really cold. I've had this for a few months, and not only is it perfect for all things frozen, but it doesn't use that much electric. My bill was flat since I plugged this in, so in no way is it an energy hog, and I keep it on a sunroon where it gets pretty warm. Great value for a very energy efficient deep freezer! My soon to be wife and I are on the go quite a bit, so this saves us money in being able to freeze meals vs. throwing out items just because we didn't have room to freeze things. On top of all that, Best Buy service was awesome, they loaded it in the car for me and all said, I was walked in the store and drove off 15 minutes later with a freezer.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So we needed a stand alone freezer that wasn’t too large or too small to store overflow from two fridges with freezer compartments. This mama bear size works perfectly and the price was fantastic because I got it on sale! Highly recommend. It’s is a three prong and the cord is about six feet long...just saying since I got that question today

It works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this freezer for hubby. He is going to start stock piling bbq meat and our normal freezer. We have a small garage and this little guy fits perfectly in the alotted space. I wish the power cord was longer. The basket inside is a great idea. The temp knob down below is perfectly placed as well. For the price which I bought on sale is hard to beat. My only future concer is how long it will last.

Great little Freezer at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking for a small freezer to supplement our home fridge/freezer. Saw this one online, read the reviews, and decided to give it a try. Set the dial to half way, checked that the temp was around zero, and added several items we found on sale at the grocery store, along with bigger containers of ice cream, and the freezer has been working flawlessly. Holds more than you would think for a small freezer. I would definitely recommend this small freezer, if you are looking for one. Excellent value.

So far, so good
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up my freezer at the store on 3/5/2020, unpacked it at home. It looked great - no scratches, dents, or spots. I placed it in the basement, at the distance from the wall that was written in the instructions; leveled it, and left it there for 24 hours before plugging it in and turning it on. After freezing products in it, the temperature at the bottom of the freezer measured at -9.9 F (using a digital thermometer). The appliance is very quiet. So far, so good - hope it stays that way. If anything changes, I'll post an update.

Q: QuestionIs the temperature setting coldest at 'MAX' or 'MIN'? I am wondering if it is max/min TEMP or max/min COLD?
Asked by Frozone.
- A:Answer Yes, Min is the Warmest and Max is the coldest. All I have to add is the fact that designing a setting like this is inane, user unfriendly, and counter-intuitive. The dial should be temperature: warm to cold, simple. Also my spinach froze and I'm upset.

Q: QuestionIs this frost free?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No, This is a manual defrost. I have been a service tech on refrigeration for 20 years and in my opinion manual defrost freezers will keep your food from getting freezer burn and drying out better than frost free, only exception is if you vacuum pack your food. Note: If you want frost free, you have to purchase an upright freezer.

Q: QuestionCan I put this freezer on carpet?I live in an apartment and have a very small kitchen. The apartment is carpeted, is it ok to place indoors on carpets?
Asked by Hallie.
- A:Answer No! Place it on a piece of plywood so that the ventilation will work. It has to have space between the bottom and the surface it sits on. Placing directly on carpet will cause the motor to over heat.
Answered by Hollie
Q: QuestionSome reviewers think the unit is noisy and some think it is quiet...hmm. Noise is an issue because of where it will be placed. Can anyone out there try to quantify the noise level, i.e, can one sit next to it and watch TV or have a conversation?
Asked by Lucy.
- A:Answer It does have a low hum. Yet I can barely hear it over the voices in my head.
Answered by MJSTOCK
Q: QuestionfreezerHow tall an how wide an can it be laid down to bring home from store
Asked by Moebo.
- A:Answer About 29" x 33". Add about 6" on each end for packing. Let freezer stand upright for at least 2 hours *before* you plug it in.

Q: QuestionCan I place this freezer in my garage?I live in central Connecticut. Can I place this freezer in my garage for year round use? My garage is not insulated.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer As with any appliance of this kind, external temperature is always a factor. The compressor will have to work harder and cycle more often, as the outside temperature rises. This is to be expected and the unit actually has a warning on the outside to that effect.
Answered by MTMike
Q: QuestionDimensionsWhat are the actual dimensions of the freezer, not capacity, size dimensions.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Exterior dimensions for this chest freezer are (WxDxH) 28.7 x 20.6 x 33.5 in.
Answered by InsigniaCustomerSupport
Q: QuestionDoes it have an outside light to indicate that the freezer is actually on?
Asked by renny.
- A:Answer Yes it has a blue light in the bottom corner to indicate it is on and to control the freezer level.
