• No, unfortunately the legs do not extend. They are fixed in height.

• Yes, the three legs are extendable -- they are basically a thin metal tube-within-a-larger-tube... the inner tube extends out of the larger tube, like an old-fashioned automobile antenna. When collapsed, each leg is 4" long; when extended, each leg is about 7" long. When extended, the tubes are held in place by friction -- there's no clamp to tighten (as in more expensive tripods). There is a rubber "foot" at the bottom of each leg for stability.

• Yes, they extend from the bottom of the legs. Just twist and pull out the remaining length of legs.
