“Temp is still at 40 degrees at highest level 6? 72 hours have past sice setting up kegerater. Still lots of foam with CO2 set at 8? Any suggestions?”

Try 6 to 4 on a new CO2 Tank. As the CO2 tank gets lower you might have to up the CO2 up to 8 or 10.
