I plan to use it for this and will have an Inkbird temperature control unit for fermenting. Plug the refrigerator power into the Inkbird and it will kick on the refrigerator until it reaches your desired temp. Once it does it cuts power to the refrigerator until it exceeds that temp again. Advanced Inkbirds have two outlets for both a heating pad and the refrigerator. On my current refrigerator the Inkbird kept my lager fermenting at 55F +/- 1F perfectly. Then when not fermenting I'll just use the refrigerator as designed.
