• I think so! I was able to run my 7.1 surround sound system (which I have on my computer) to the TV no problems. Hopes this helps!

• I use a Bose sound bar with optical connection. You can also use RCA connections.

• The Insignia 50 Class (49.5 Diag.) LED HDTV does not have an optical input, so you can't connect your surround sound system.
