• Yes, but you will need an antenna for over the air channels.

• Yes, you don't have to have internet to use the tv. You do have to click on what you want to use when you turn the tv on. ex: cable, dvd player... so its one extra button to push. If she's not going to use any of the "smart tv feature" maybe don't buy a smart tv. My 79 yr old dad probably wouldnt want it.

• Yes, this is the way I use it. I just connected my cable box to the TV and I get all the cable channels
