This TV is perfect for cutting the cord. To get local broadcast channels you don't need an app, just a good antenna. How far you live from the stations will determine what kind of antenna you need. Here is a great place to start for information. http://antennaweb.org/address.aspx
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no such thing as a stupid question! You would be able to connect an antenna to the TV and get any local channels in your area (ABC, NBC, CBS usually). For the others, the integrated Roku interface does have tons of apps you can download, both free and paid, to get content including news.

I'm sorry you feel that way, BUT I can definitely suggest and recommend ways to go about this. You have different streaming options from some companies that have certain shows and whatnot available. Research Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, and Sling television. This tv fortunately has Roku built in that helps with already having most of these services available on your home screen. If they aren't listed there, then just make your way over to the left of the screen and select streaming channels to access the content. Good luck! I hope this helps! Oh and before I forget, please make sure you have a strong wifi connection on the tv by making sure your wifi router is at least within 20 feet of the tv. Many of these simply are thrilled that you are using their app. I think you may only have to pay for "premium" content or on demand shows.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately no, just hook up your antenna to your tv, then choose the local or antenna in the sitting and reseat searching channels. Whe it finished you able to change any time when you want to watch air cable or to antenna from the menu or sources wich it found on remote conrtol.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can cut the cable, but you may not be able to get your local stations. It all depends what area you live in and what kind of signal you get. As for other programming, you can watch them but you may need to subscribe to other services such as Netflix and Zulu. They cost about $10.00 per month each.
