“Is the usb port just for charging a device (like cell phone) or will the usb port allow for a flash drive to play music”

• I own this item, and you can definitely put music on a flash drive, and it will play from the flash drive. I do wish that it had a "shuffle" function when playing from a flash drive, but it doesn't.

• It's for charging devices only. There are 2 options for playing music: bluetooth or the AUX port.
